Board of Directors
The local property tax system follows the principle of checks and balances. An appraisal district Board of Directors hires the chief appraiser, sets the budget and appoints the appraisal review board members. The directors have no authority to
set values or appraisal methods. The chief appraiser carries out the
appraisal district's legal duties, hires the staff, makes the
appraisals and operates the appraisal office.
The Haskell CAD board is made up of five directors elected by the governing boards of the taxing entities
whose jurisdictions lie in the appraisal district. Each Haskell CAD
Board member serves a two year term. The Haskell CAD Board
meets monthly in the Conference Room of the Haskell CAD office at 604
N. 1st Street in Haskell.
